A management system for Estudio de Danza Paula Muñoz

Problem

Everything lived in spreadsheets: accounting, income and expenses, student records, sign-ups and drop-outs. There were no KPIs, and information was lost for lack of control over the data.

Approach

• A Fastify + TypeScript API (JSON Schema validation, lightweight start-up on serverless).
• Prisma with versioned migrations on PostgreSQL (Supabase).
• Supabase Auth: the JWT is validated against the public JWKS, so the backend holds no secrets.
• Business rules isolated in a services layer; routes only parse and delegate.
• Unit tests for the critical rules: prices, enrolment, payments and make-up classes.
• Built to measure: alerts for pending payments and make-up class assignment that respects each class’s capacity.

Result (qualitative)

Each month the academy sees a summary with active students, drop-outs, income, expenses, result, class occupancy and attendance rate, compared with the previous month. They can tell whether the business is improving or declining from verified data, and decide better. Information is no longer lost.
